We were able to travel to Germany to conduct clinics and symposiums thanks to the hard work of Christina Porkert and Phillip Widlicky and the generosity of many wonderful hosts and hostesses.
The weekend of Sept23rd and 24th found us
at ELIESENHOF
a beautiful Quarter Horse breeding and reigning training farm belonging to
Gabi Resch and Niko Kalaizidis in Welzheim, Germany.

We stayed at the wonderful home of Frau Uta Mundlein,
our friend Dorothee Kieckhefer's mother.
in the beautiful town of Schorndorf, Germany.

We were thrilled to visit the famous STUD
at Marbach, Germany on a day trip with Christina and Uta.

We also spent a wonderful day visiting vineyards
and eating Schwabian food with Phillip and his father and brother.
Wonderful food, beautiful countryside, and excellent company.
We also visited a Porche mechanics shop of a friend of
Luther Widlicky and
saw some beautiful cars.

Tuesday and Thursday the following week
Ned conducted evening symposiums in Mannheim,Germany
and
Helga and Klaus Brunner and their two sweet daughters
graciously hosted us.

We drove on to the Basel, Switzerland area Friday Sept. 29th to do the last two day clinic on Saturday and Sunday and were hosted by Christina's dear friend, Marita Walliser who opened up her wonderful stone 300 year old cottage type home to us.
Our thanks go to Maja who provided the wonderful traditional Swiss food for both clinic days .Delicious!
And to all who did not let the rain dampen spirits either day or prevent them from participating. Their enthusiasm was contagious!

Ned and Christina
Switzerland
All through the trip we have been treated to the most wonderful
cooking and melt in your mouth deserts like none we had ever tasted.
And most importantly we feel we made good friends in Germany,
Austria, and Switzerland.
Love of horses is certainly a universal language.
Christina was an excellent tour guide and companion throughout
the trip and we miss her cheerful spirit, warm smile,
and variety of interests.

We left her in Austria were she is giving her love
and care to some very special Arabian horses.
We very much enjoyed spending time and stories
with Christina's employers,
who have the same love and fulfillment
from their horses as we do
with ours. And again, shared many laughs and wonderful
food during our short time there in Austria.
